The inland hurricane problem
When Hurricane Helene crossed Georgia in September 2024, Augusta and the surrounding CSRA saw some of the heaviest tree damage in the state. Thousands of tall pines and hardwoods came down across Summerville, West Augusta, Martinez and Evans, and many neighborhoods went without power for days. The claims that followed were handled under enormous volume — and plenty of them were closed with estimates that missed framing damage, interior water and food or refrigeration losses.
Storm claims don’t have to be reopened only by angry phone calls. If your carrier accepted coverage but paid less than the work costs, appraisal is designed for that exact situation — provided your policy deadlines haven’t passed.
What we review in the Augusta area
- Tree-on-roof claims with crane, framing and debris removal costs.

Questions from Augusta property owners
Is it too late to dispute my Helene claim?
It depends on your policy’s deadlines, including any suit-limitation period. Some Georgia policies use two years from the date of loss. Check your policy now, or send it to us and we’ll flag the dates.
The carrier paid the tree removal but not the roof. What should I do?
Request a written explanation, then have the roof documented. If coverage is accepted and the disagreement is about scope or price, appraisal may be appropriate.
